Engagement Weekend

We spent the weekend in Dallas, TX to celebrate the Weddinng of Dorothy & Juan.
Why Dallas?  Dallas seemed to be the central location for all international friends/family to gather.
We seemed to have one of the shortest travels with a mere 6-hour car ride compared to Juan's family in Victoria, Canada, Dorothy/Juan in Tanzania (Africa).

We stayed at the Omni Hotel in downtown Dallas.

Juan and David

We were SO PROUD of the kids on this trip!  We knew that the 1st (2-3 hour visit/dinner) might be a challenge but they did so great; Kaden & Owen visited, tried new foods and Grace slept like a champ.

Happy day: eggs benedict 2 days in a row!

While we were in town, we were able to catch up with Scott and Tara Craighead and their 2 boys, Hartley and Finnley.

I somehow lucked out and got a bed to myself.  Happy Mother's Day, indeed!

On Saturday we all visited at another restaurant called Chicken Scratch/Foundry.  There was a large area for the kids to run around/play and live music was playing across the courtyard.

having a great time, staying up incredibly late
getting to watch the storm roll in from the 4th floor of our hotel.

Mother's Day Brunch with Deann & Norman
Despite the look on Kaden's face, this was another wonderful meal and opportunity to visit on a smaller scale.
Gracie was awake and social for most of this meal.

We had such a great weekend visiting with family and meeting NEW families.
Feeling more confident and excited about our decision to travel to Tanzania, Africa for Dorothy & Juan's wedding this August.
